“Last Train To Nowhere” By Kevin Nutter.

“Last Train To Nowhere”

Currock Wagonworks, Carlisle.

Formerly known as Currock Junction it was built in 1895 by the Glasgow & Southern Railway and converted into a wagon repair works by the London Midland & Scottish Railway in 1924. The painting shows, two steam locomotives about to be stripped of useful parts, prior to being transported to the scrap yard. A heart breaking task for the men that had maintained them for decades.
